About the event

Welcome to the Annual RH Construction Fishing Derby!

This Derby will be held on May 5th, 7:30am - 3:30pm on Wood Lake. Each boat partaking in the fishing derby must be registered, maximum 4 lines per registration. All registration fees will be donated to the Matt Cook Foundation; The Matt Cook Foundation strives to make things better for young adults fighting cancer. (http://mattcookfoundation.com)

The Derby is catch and release and open to all ages. We are looking for the longest Kokanee in Wood Lake. We are encouraging catch and release practices and will be declaring the winner(s) based on length of the fish only. The prizes will be awarded to the entrants who catch the longest Kokanee.

Official Measuring: Once a fish is caught, the participant is responsible for measuring their catch and taking a legible photo that shows the exact length. Kokanee will be measured in INCHES from the tip of the head to the fork in the centre of the tail to the nearest eighth of an inch. The photo must show the fish's nose firmly against the ruler edge and the fork of the tail measured to the nearest eighth of an inch. Once the fish is measured, you are required to call or text your catch in to derby headquarters (250-870-4357). Once this is done you may release your fish. Upon completion of the derby and before 3:30pm you must provide photographic proof of your measured Kokanee.

Prizes proudly donated by La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, OK Builders, Bakery Boardshop, and Trout Waters Fly & Tackle.
